Melanie

Vivi rogers and lila holler

Lyrics:

You drove 10 miles to see me

Said we’d meet at 5

You got here at 4:30

Walked into the kitchen

Helped yourself to my favorite

loose leaf tea

You always wore big shoes on your little feet

heavy steps telling me to tread lightly

Boots laced the whole night, like you were planning to leave Now there’s lipstick on the teacup

That I have to clean

It bothers me to be touched

Now that your hands have touched me

all those times I blushed

Stained red on my hot cheeks

You burned right through me, Melanie

When we don’t speak you’re even more telling I’ve become okay with giving more than I’m getting I've started saying no, now it’s me I’m protecting Ashes from your fire no longer condemn me

Your cups in the cupboard, still sitting empty

the one to leave

It bothers me to be touched

Now that your hands have touched me

all those times I blushed

Stained red on my hot cheeks

You burned right through me, Melanie

X2(alone)

I still love you

But I don’t want to

No i don’t want you

X2 (overlapping)

I still love you

But I don’t want to

No i don’t want you

x3

I burn

I burn

I burn

I can’t be what you want me to be Melanie
