Editors in Chiefs
Neva Ensminger-Holland is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy from Mequon, Wisconsin. She is a YoungArts award winner in Novel Writing and a Scholastic Art & Writing American Voices nominee in personal essay and memoir. Her work is published or forthcoming in The Interlochen Review, The Albion Review, and the YoungArts anthology. This fall, she will attend the University of St. Andrews in Scotland as a classical archaeology and social anthropology major.
Sam Haviland is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy from Mamaroneck, New York. Their work has been recognized nationally by Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and has appeared in Ninth Letter's Web Issue, Blue Marble Review, and Lumiere. They enjoy writing in all genres and is especially fond of "weird" or experimental work. Next school year they’re going to Princeton University—which is only two hours away from their house and more importantly only two hours away from their dog, a corgi named Merlin.
Poetry Editors
Avery Gendler is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy studying creative writing. She plans on attending Princeton University in the fall. Avery was a Poetry Out Loud finalist in her home state of Idaho in 2019. She recently placed first in the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum’s Literary Contest for the 11-12 grade category. In her free time, she enjoys pressing flowers between books (when she isn’t reading them) and backpacking with her family and two dogs George Washington and Teddy Roosevelt.
Kaydance Rice is a tenth grade creative writing student at Interlochen Arts Academy from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Kaydance's work can be found in Élan Magazine, The Red Wheelbarrow, as well as Fledge. Her work has also been recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
Fiction Editors
Simone Chaney is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy from Marshfield, Wisconsin. She is the winner of several Silver Keys from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. She was also named a finalist in the Blank Theatre Young Playwright's Festival and the Gen Z Critics Film Criticism Contest. Her work has also appeared in the Red Wheelbarrow. Simone will attend Dartmouth College in the fall.
Morgan Spencer is a junior creative writing major at Interlochen Arts Academy. Her writing has been published in The Interlochen Review, and the Red Wheelbarrow. She has won several scholastic regional awards. She writes mostly nonfiction about ballet and basketball.
Nonfiction Editor
Lucy Dale is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy. She is from Cleveland, Ohio. She is a recipient of Gold and Silver Keys for poetry, non-fiction, and fiction in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Lucy is the runner-up for poetry in the Georgia Southern High School Writing Contest and her poetry will appear in the 2021-22 high school edition of Fledge.

Nicholas Bonifas is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy. He is from Decatur, Indiana. He has received a Gold Key for fiction and Silver Key for poetry from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. His work has appeared in the Red Wheelbarrow. He will be attending Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont in the fall.
