Marie
jess detor
Look at you, look at you
You swim away what’s left of June
And drift along the water to July
Look at you, look at you
You walk with the summer afternoon’s
Kisses on your cheeks instead of mine
But I want you to stay warm
Oh I hope you’re staying warm
Walk with me, walk with me
And watch our shadows, until we’re just
Freckles on the skyline and the shore
Nearing you, nearing you
The water dips to hear your tune
As anyone would do, i'm fairly sure
Cause I want you to stay warm
Oh I hope you’re staying warm
But isn’t it strange, to watch yourself fade
In the mornings, early mornings
Isn’t it strange, to watch yourself fade
And I’m coming, oh I'm coming over soon
So Marie, oh Marie
Let's watch the people on the street
It seems they’re hearing something that we’ve missed
And Marie, oh Marie,
Draw the curtains, lay with me
Your name it feels so safe between my lips
Cause I want you to stay warm
Oh I hope you’re staying warm
And I want you to stay warm
Am I enough to keep you warm
Valentine
I’m soft spoken
It’s etched into my fault lines
You pull me along
Scattered, shoes untied
Noon and the meantime
Catches you absorbed in me
Say I remind you of your valentine
She left you shaking in the street
And now you’re falling at my feet
At my feet
I don’t mean what I say
But you like it, you like it anyways
I don’t mean what I say
But you like it, you like it anyways
Tomorrow, wide awake
I'm folding up my old sheets
Didn’t catch you walking out the door
I know you stay just down the street
Until you’re falling at my feet
At my feet
I don’t mean what I say
But you like it, you like it anyways
I don’t mean what I say
But you like it, you like it anyways
