Elizabeth Shorkey spent her first three years of high school attending Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy before being accepted to Interlochen Arts Academy for her 2019-2020 senior year. Libby’s writing has appeared in magazines including Still Life and Perspectives,  and she has gained recognition for her prose, nonfiction and poetry from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, River Junction Poets, the Tom Samet Fiction Competition hosted by Michigan State University, Lake Effect National High School Poetry Competition, Michigan Youth Arts Festival, and the Adroit Mentorship program. Going forward this fall, Libby plans to attend Knox College, in Galesburg, IL to pursue a degree in creative writing.
