Yu Ding is a junior at the Shanghai American School, Puxi Campus. She began to explore the possibilities of art and discovered that it could be a medium to express her perspective of the world, show her concern for the planet, and raise awareness among those who view her work. By connecting with the audience on an emotional level through visual language, her artwork seeks to bring attention to important social and environmental issues such as ocean pollution, pet safety, adolescent mental health, and post-pandemic trauma. Yu believes that art can be a powerful tool for addressing these issues and is excited to explore new mediums that combine art with technology and AI.
