A Poem Describing a Mother’s Definition of Love as Seen Through 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 in Her King James Bible as She Deals with a Cheating Husband and a Failing Restaurant Business Along with Fourth Grade Twins

Brian Morris

A mother, over the sink, supports herself with her hands.
Watches the suds remain on the bottom, looks toward her children,
then to her hands. The left one. The one left
with remembering her, when she used to take her ring off only to do dishes.
