Helena Notario — Head Editor & Lead Hybrid Genres Editor

Helena Notario is a two-year senior at Interlochen Arts Academy, where she serves on the editorial team for the literary magazines the Red Wheelbarrow and Interlochen Review. She enjoys writing performance and comedy based writing. Her poetry, fiction, and humor have appeared in the Red Wheelbarrow. Helena’s writing has also won a National Gold Medal for humor, two Regional Silver Keys for fiction and humor, and a Silver Key portfolio in the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. She is a joint recipient of the New Hollywood LGBT Emerging Voices grant. Helena is from Northville, Michigan, and will attend Kalamazoo College in the fall.

Darius Atefat-Peckham— Lead Nonfiction Editor

Darius Atefat-Peckham is an Iranian-American poet and essayist. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Texas Review, Brevity, The American Journal of Poetry, Rattle, and elsewhere. He also has work forthcoming in the Other Voices International Project Anthology (Reelcontent) and Iran Musings: Stories and Memories from the Iranian Diaspora, as well as the bilingual anthology, Persian Sugar and English Tea, Vol. II. Darius lives in Huntington, West Virginia with his family: poets Joel and Rachael Peckham and his Golden Retriever, Ivy. He currently attends Interlochen Arts Academy, where he serves on the editorial team for the literary magazines the Red Wheelbarrow and Interlochen Review.

Margaret Blackburn— Lead Poetry Editor

Margaret Blackburn is a two-year senior from Evanston, IL. She is a 2018 National YoungARTS finalist in writing, a finalist for the Louise Louis / Emily F. Bourne Student Award from the Poetry Society of America, and the first place winner among high school students in the Jo-Anne Hirshfield Memorial Poetry Awards. She also received an American Voices Nomination and two regional Gold Keys from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Sophie Paquette— Lead Fiction Editor

Sophie Paquette is a junior at Interlochen Arts Academy, originally from Bloomington, Indiana. Her work has appeared in or is forthcoming in The Offing, Midwestern Gothic, Cosmonauts Avenue, and Up North Lit. Her writing has also been recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Princeton University’s Leonard L. Milberg ’53 High School Poetry Prize, and by the Bennington Young Writers Awards.

Adam Ryan— Lead Screenplay Editor

Adam Ryan is a two year senior at Interlochen Arts Academy, majoring in creative writing. He is from Janesville, Wisconsin and will attend Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Isabelle Byrnes-Bartell— Poetry Editor

Isabelle Byrnes-Bartell is from Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is a winner of two Regional Silver Keys in writing portfolio and personal essay from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, as well as a Regional Honorable Mention in short story. She will attend Louisiana Tech University in the fall.

Yanna Cassell—  Poetry Editor

Yanna Cassell is from Winterville, North Carolina, and is a junior at Interlochen Arts Academy.  She has won two Regional Silver Keys for poetry from the Scholastic Art & Writing Arts as well as an Honorable Mention in the Nancy Thorp Poetry Contest.

Cookie Dutch— Visual Arts Editor

Cookie Dutch is currently a sophomore at Interlochen Arts Academy. He enjoys both writing and visual art. Cookie's visual work has been featured in the ⌘Z Juried Digital Exhibition, as well as in Interlochen's Red Wheelbarrow. In addition, Cookie's writing has won a Regional Honorable Mention and a Regional Gold Key in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. He is also a joint recipient of the New Hollywood LGBT Emerging Voices grant.

Ash Freeman—  Visual Arts Editor

Ash Freeman is a junior creative writing major at Interlochen Arts Academy. She is from Miami, Florida and this influences a lot of her photography which is taken in the Everglades National Park. Ash's photography has been published in the Red Wheelbarrow and she has won four Regional Silver Keys from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for photography and poetry.

Poppy Rose— Nonfiction Editor

Poppy Rose is a sophomore creative writer at Interlochen Arts Academy, and is from Lincoln Park, Michigan. She has had multiple editorial opportunities this year, as an editor for both the Interlochen Review and the Red Wheelbarrow. This past year in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards she received Regional Silver Keys in poetry and photography, and Regional Gold Keys in nonfiction and photography. She also worked on and presented an installation with one of her fellow classmates, in which literature was paired with interactive art pieces and performative art.

Joe Ryan— Fiction Editor

Joseph Ryan is from Janesville, Wisconsin and will attend Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio in the fall.

Miracle Thorton— Fiction Editor

Miracle Thornton is a sophomore creative writing major at Interlochen Arts Academy. She is from a small town in South Jersey called Franklinville where she lives with her four siblings, parents, and four cats. Miracle has been published in the Spring 2018 issue of Up North Lit and has received one Regional Gold Key, three Regional Silver Keys, and a total of four Regional Honorable Mentions from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Miracle serves on the editorial team of the Interlochen Review.
